Our Cayugas aren't the greatest sitters, but I don't know about other people's experience. On the other hand, my grandparents have Mallards running around free range and they never stop having babies. I've also noticed this with Muscovies. That's my experience :)

In my experiance, Calls are awful sitters. I've had about 10 Calls, and not a single hen has ever sat for me. I've always incubated Call eggs under a bantam cochin hen and then hatched them in a small incubator.

My Muscovies are terrific sitters, though. And you don't have to worry about crossbreeds with Muscovies, since, like most other domestic waterfowl, they aren't related to Mallards at all. Last year my three Muscovy hens hatched about 20 Muscovy ducklings completely on their own.

I've only bred a few different ducks so my experience is limited... my calls were quite skittish and didn't take very good care of their eggs and I can only assume it was mostly nervousness... the muscovies I've kept were excellent parents though.
If I could think of where my duck book was I could tell you for sure how each of those breeds are supposed to be as far as hatching goes...
