Male six month old chicken has orientation problem

Hello all,

six month old Male chicken (broiler) had sever chest conjustion and cough and has cured after three weeks. It was not eating at all and loosing its weight and feathers. Now feathers' lose is reduced almost...but he can not pick up his food easily. He can stand and walk properly but can not peck strongly. It is recovering his weight as well. It has strong earg of eating but it can not pick up its food in first attempt. It had purple colored eye during his chest constion and cough problem. I gave it an eye drop and now it has a little spot on its eye front layer.

1. Please help what problem it has? (not picking up its food ...some disorientation problem) ?
2. What is the cure?
3. Do chikens like to sleep in dark? I provide them a 40 watt bulb in cold? Is that bothering my chickens?

I'm sorry nobody has gotten back to you on this. I don't know a lot about poultry ailments so there's not much I can say at this time. Glad things sound like they're improving a little. I hope things are still improving.

As far as the light goes... I'm not really sure. I've never heard anything about the topic of the effects of light on their sleep. I do believe that with all animals, even humans, you get better sleep in darkness. But... lots of people give their birds extra light to help them continue producing eggs through the winter.
