Should entries be anonymous?

Nah, it is fine how it is.

future show entries.

Postby millipede on Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:41 pm

We've had some people suggest it might be a good idea to make the show entries anonymous. Basically, everyone that wants to enter would have to send their pictures to someone who isn't judging(like me) and then that person would post all the images without the owner's names on them. That would make sure that anyone judging wouldn't show any favoritism. I don't believe we really have to worry about that, at all, here... But since it was brought up, we figured we'd see what everyone else thinks about how we should enter our birds.
This wont affect the current show of course, so you have plenty of time to vote and share your opinions on the matter.

I really wouldn't mind it either way... I think it's a good idea. Not really because of favoritism or anything, because I don't think there is any of that going on here, but if everyone sent their pictures to someone (would that be you?) then the person could resize them and all that as well to make sure no one posts GIANT pictures. I think it's a good idea. It would probably be a little more organized as well. I'll say YES to it.

It wouldn't matter to me either. It might look a little neater and more organised. Either way I am fine with it.

i don't think it matters, but it might cause problems if you can't find people (unless you wanted to do them all millipede  ) to help put them up.

I say anonymous, as mentioned, much more orderly as all photos would be sized accordingly, and then there could be no doubt, just in case there was some, somewhere.

Thanks for the input everyone. Since we wont be entering birds til the first of January anyway, I'll probably leave this poll open til then. The more votes we can get the easier it will be to make a good decision about it.

I think this should be anonymous as well, I guess in the end, it seems more fairer.

I said yes, anonymous. I though that it would be neater and clearer if all of the ducks were posted together, and all of the chickens were posted together, etc. I just thought it would be a little nicer to look at.

that makes sense.
So far it seems like more people are interested in it being anonymous. I do hope we can get more votes though.

My only real concern with sending them via pm would be that perhaps some people would be less likely to enter. I could be wrong about that though.

Thanks for all the input everyone... feel free to keep it coming.

I'd say it's fine the way it is. After all isn't that the way it is at most shows?

welcome to the site dbright, and thanks for your input. Hopefully we can find a way to get things going a bit more around here and we can start the shows again. I kind of miss them actually...
